Situation has not improved though -- still I got: root: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/webcamd: WARNING: failed to start webcamd I am in group webcamd and /dev/video0 does appear after plugging camera in. Trying Kopete and opening Video tab in preferences -- nothing there. I can try reboot with camera plugged in and I'll see if any change.. M.
