Subject: Two versions of a port, how to handle?

I have two ports that are both of the same program, but different
revisions. I have a "stable" and a "development" version. This is a
similar situation to how "gimp" and "gimp-devel" used to be ("gimp" was
the stable 0.54 version, and "gimp-devel" was the "beta" 0.99 version).

How should I handle this?

The program in question is "sysutils/mkhybrid", a program for creating
hybrid CD-ROMs (Joliet, HFS, et al). The port that's in there now is of
version 1.11.1, and is the last "stable" release. I now have a port for
mkhybrid 1.12a4.1, which is considered "alpha" but contains significant
new functionality.

Should I make a "mkhybrid" and "mkhybrid-devel" port? Or a "mkhybrid11"
and "mkhybrid12" port (a' la squid11/squid12)?

Opinions, anyone?
