Official support for floppy tapes was dropped in 3.0-STABLE and later; see /usr/src/UPDATING entry on 19981224. However, Mark Hannon has some good info on *unofficially* adding it back in. Take a look at http://w1.874.telia.com/~u87405149/ftape.html for instructions.
