set XTerm*font or Aterm*font resource in your ${HOME}/.Xdefaults ...

XTerm*font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--14-130-75-75-*--iso8859-1
!XTerm*font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-*-75-75-c--iso8859-1

...then optionally run xrdb...

xrdb -load ${HOME}/.Xdefaults
