Here's one thing that annoys me:

$ crontab -e
<edit ...>
crontab: temp file must be edited in place

the solut^W kludge I use (EDITOR=nvi crontab -e) is easier than finding
out how to configure Vim to avoid this, but I'm sure there's a way.
