Yes, I'm seeing (well, actually, *hearing*) the same thing.  I also get it
whenever I drag a scrollbar in any gtk-based app (Mozilla, Pan).

Current cvsupped 3/24, buildworld, buildkernel.

And, yes, it is *very* annoying.
