Personally, I always find those distracting, because they inevitably
affect the line height, drawing attention to paragraphs that use them,
for the wrong reason.

While I'm all for adding apropriate imagery to the documentation to make
it easier for the readers, I suspect that if the readers need images of
keycaps instead of text then there's no hope for them :-)

Just my opinion.
