Somewhere during 'make install' for gnome, it hung during 'registering pkg info'. Well, i waited and waited, nothing happened. So i hit ctrl-C. Well, gnome won't work (big surprise). I tried to reinstall, it said i have to deinstall first. When i try this, it says /var/db/pkg has no +CONTENTS. Sure enough, everyh other pkg has CONTENTS, except this last one, gnome. I tried looking in the pkg directory in the ports tree, but apparently CONTENTS is built during the install. How can i uninstall enough to reinstall, or force the reinstall? Also, to start gnome, i include 'panel &' in my .xinitrc, correct? -jonathon To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
