The Virtual machine has *ONE* processor, I'm not sure that PREEMPTION is allow in this case; anyway I post this bug in case it may be usefull... If I add `option PREEMPTION' to the kernel configuration of 5.3-BETA5, the boot process freeze. Without this option all is OK. Here is the dmesg of the boot and the freeze point: Timecounter "TSC" frequency 2192468776 Hz quality 800 Timecounters tick every 10.000 msec ipfw2 initialized, divert enabled, rule-based forwarding disabled, default to deny, logging disabled ** FREEZE HERE ** ATAPI_RESET time = 0us acd0: CDROM <VMware Virtual IDE CDROM Drive/00000001> at ata0-master UDMA33 Waiting 5 seconds for SCSI devices to settle da0 at mpt0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 da0: <VMware Virtual disk 1.0> Fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device da0: 320.000MB/s transfers (160.000MHz, offset 127, 16bit), Tagged Queueing Enabled da0: 6000MB (12288000 512 byte sectors: 255H 63S/T 764C) Henri >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: Don't use option PREEMPTION >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
