Well, one problem was that there was some issues with 
/sys/i386/i386/nexus.c and certain EISA probe/attach routines.  Seems 
device_add_child() was being called there instead of BUS_ADD_CHILD(), 
resulting in fatal traps on certain HW with EISA buses.
