No, there's an optional Lan management port that works with RSA II (ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/systems/support/system_x_pdf/44r5189.pdf) adapter card for out-band management, and is currently not used. The two bce's are built-in w/ the board and are hooked up with a different controller. In-band mechanism is used for the baseboard management system. Is there any connection with SMM?
