Yes.

That's not my point of view.  There was a commit to back out the
cvs-compat hack, Joerg and you got into an argument, I followed it a
while but it got so long and winding I sort of lost it, then there was 
a commit of patch 2.5.

I'm sure you proposed upgrading patch to 2.5 but honestly I didn't
realize you said so until I saw the import message.  Although I can't
speak of others, I think this is how many people saw it.
