I had to haggle with Support however, since they > didn't want to send me the disks without me having a problem. > I then told them I borked my hdd and then they sent them. i have a brand new t40p, purchased with winxp. i called support about the getting the winxp cd-roms. they said no problem. we talked a bit and i made clear i needed winxp installs, not something that would wipe my disk drive, i.e., the standard recovery. i got a four disk set and they all seem to be part of a full wipe-your-drive recovery set. the problem is i need to pick some dlls from a winxp distro so a winxp guest under vmware3 uses apm not acpi (see vmware hints somewhere on the vmware site). specifically, what do i ask ibm support for? got a part number? randy
