PS I see with cd / ; /bin/ls -l | grep host
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root  wheel     5 Dec 27 12:36 carp -> /host
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root  wheel     5 Dec 27 13:41 host -> /host

(carp is nothing I deliberately set up)

host -> /host   is obviously wrong, should be a directory, something
keeps removing the directory & creating this recursive symbolic link.
