There have been a number of bug fixes to the intel nics since 
6.2R.  Can you at least update to 6.3R or RELENG_6 ?  Also, check the 
stats for your nics

sysctl dev.em.0.stats=1

it will dump them to syslog

Does the switchport your are connected to show any errors ?
