I definitely understand Jordan's comments re: motivating folks to
finalize work and check it in -- that's what deadlines are for.  But
I would support any amount of delay required to meet QA goals.

(The ancient definition of BETA is "no more features, only bug fixes" --
 we should remember to adhere to *some* life cycle model or other)
