Somehow i started it up and started hitting
random keystrokes and the one that did it
was ALT-M and it made an icon on the desktop
but after i clicked on the icon it would go
away so i right clicked it and played with the
settings and finally it showed up on the desktop.

somehow it was hidden, and it didnt matter
what window manager i used.
