Subject:   Speeding up boot process

After a search through the archives I found that several people have asked
this question before but I couldn't find the responses to those emails. So
I am going to post it again.
During booting there is a delay when the comp tries to find my ata1-slave.
I don't have one. Is there a way to fix this??
