Whenever I use a Gnome application (right now I am using the Gnome
desktop) and I try to play something from Realplayer, I get an error
stated that something has the audio lock.

I found that if I kill esd, I can get Realplayer to work. (With ps it
shows up as "esd -nobeeps"). However, while Realplayer is running, it
appears that I cannot get system sounds.

Is there something I need to do to get sound apps to play well together?
