 * /usr/ports.  (I can imagine the situation where
 * a non-privileged user might want to build a port,

Actually you're supposed to be setting PORTSDIR by yourself in that
case. :)

 * Couldn't xview-lib try cd-ing to ../xview-config
 * instead?
