Hi, Having cheked the i4b package closely, it seems there is no way to set it up so I can dial up the ISDN line and get the good old ASCII shell and a login prompt. Is this true, or is there something I have missed? I have a setup with my 33.6 analogue modem where I can dial up my FreeBSD box, from a Win98 laptop using HyperTerm, and at the login prompt log on as normal. I need to move over to ISDN. So, On FreeBSD I need some way to have getty (or mgetty) listening to the ISDN, answering the call, starting the login process. On my Win98 laptop it is no problem. I use a GSM Mobile phone which can talk to ISDN or analogue modems. The advantage is the Mobile can connect to ISDN in 2 seconds, but take the usual 30 seconds to connect to the 33.6 modem. In my case, after connecting, I stream data back to the Win98 box. PPP is not suitable for my application. With PPP I get lags in the MS Windows software (typical) making the data appear bursty. This is for a real time system. Any ideas, suggestions? I'm willing and able to hack code at the low level.
