You have to enable the secondary controller in the BIOS. You have the
drive allocation, which is usally auto...auto, and then you have this
additional setting that depends on the type of BIOS.

You will also want to enable dma, 32-bit transfers, and multi-sector
reads. See the flags in the LINT file in /sys/i386/conf.
