So when you try a newer version (if that still runs on your
rather old hardware) does that give the same results?
4.11 for instance or 5.4,5.5-BETA3,6.0,6.1-BETA3 ?

4.X is no longer being actively developed so we should
check whether new releases still have this potential
bug.  Also did you try some newer hardware with a
recent version of FreeBSD? Did you check whether the
battery that is inserted in the CMOS is still OK ?
