I don't know if you can call it a wrapper, but the X11R6 distribution
has a threads include file the the threaded server used to make
a virtual layer above both of these ( I seem to remember).
You can probably use that as a guide for mapping an equivelance.
It may not be pre-build but it is a place to start....shrug...
