Or where you are swapping to a drive that after a few changes on the
allocation (over several months of operation) of drive space between
several disks starts to get used more heavily.

I.e.: Your Imap spool is in var and on the same drive as one of your
swap partitions. Removing the swap space (you actually don't need) is a
benefit in that case.

We had to reboot to achieve this, which is not a good thing if that
server serves many services for an office of 30 people. Rebooting
outside office hours is not an option as the office is occupied with
people working from 8 o'clock till 9 or 10 o'clock in the evening.

Not strictly necessary, but a good feature to have.
