Kit and Greg,

Thanks for you suggestions and help.  I still am unable to get the Belkin 
mouse to function under FreeBSD.  The question occurs to me now whether the 
mouse is functioning at all.  My next step will be to try to install it on 
Windows 95 and see if it is really a working mouse.
