Scenario:

6 x 18 GB drives

Drive 0:
/dev/da0s1a 49583 21089 24528 46% /
/dev/da0s1f 4961725 694113 3870674 15% /usr
/dev/da0s1e 1488607 7049 1362470 1% /var
procfs 4 4 0 100% /proc
/dev/da0s1g 10234862 208310 9207764 2% /mnt1

drive 1-5:
One big parition each e.g.:
/dev/da1s1e 17245631 19 15865962 0% /chicago/home1

- writes to any filesystem on disk0 are very fast, reads are fast.

- writes to all other filesystems on disks 1-5 are very slow, reads are
fast.

- Breaking disks 1-5 into smaller partitions has no impact

Any ideas?
