Finding private adresses in traceroutes IS annoying. For instance, from
my box here at home,
 1 anp-as10.erols.com (10.65.34.20) 229.273 ms 280.448 ms 199.593 ms
 2 10.65.34.1 (10.65.34.1) 219.927 ms 271.672 ms 208.069 ms
 3 10.2.4.50 (10.2.4.50) 277.771 ms 257.309 ms 248.005 ms
 4 10.2.2.61 (10.2.2.61) 257.946 ms 228.212 ms 221.258 ms
 5 207.124.117.209 (207.124.117.209) 199.419 ms 227.504 ms 177.854 ms
 6 dcb-7513-2-h8-0.cwi.net (207.124.105.77) 267.632 ms 317.036 ms

So, coming from the other direction,
 9 blb-7513-1-h3-0.cwix.net (207.124.105.78) 61.949 ms 82.938 ms
10 207.124.117.210 (207.124.117.210) 97.334 ms * *
11 * * *
12 * * *
13 * * *
14 * anp-as10s19.erols.com (207.172.150.146) 274.060 ms 270.059 ms

Now, if that was happening with the private adresses at the end AWAY from
me, it really wouldn't help me figure out where the problem is. From the
other end, I might well assume the problem would be in cwix.net, instead
of erols.com where all those *'s really are. Not too helpful in sending
complaints/notices.

I'm going to exercise a little discretion here; I think this particular
line has reached the end of it's useful life on -hackers.
