Subject:   Any idea why +IGNOREME is, well, ignored?

I am trying to get around this mono build failure, as it hangs the  
whole portupgrade process. The usual and customary step of touching a  
+IGNOREME file in the port directory doesn't work with mono. Any idea  
why not? It works with at least one other port that I have to hold for  
a fixed version.
