Its just a shot in the dark, but I have found that with the 2940U's,
"ENABLE PLUG & PLAY SCAM SUPPORT" turned on in the card's BIOS, seems to
help this problem out...  I dont know if it will help your other problems,
but I have found it to resolve the issue with the Adeptec BIOS not seeing
the drives after a warm reboot.
