According to Graeme Brown: > My FreeBSD 2.2.5 host is freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk with a valid public IP > Address. OK. > In /etc/services I have Not interesting :) > The sendmail demon appears to be running ... Not interesting either, you don't need a demon to _send_ mail, only to receive it. > Flags for sendmail in my /etc/rc.conf ... Same as above. > % hostname > freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk OK. > % host freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk > freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk mail is handled (pri=15) by zaphod.axion.bt.co.uk > freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk mail is handled (pri=20) by relay.bt.net > freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk mail is handled (pri=10) by mailhub.axion.bt.co.uk Looks good but we don't care about it to _send_ mail. > I have tried to send a test email to myself > (graeme.brown@bt-sys.bt.co.uk) which should be forwarded to my mail > account on another system but it never reaches the destination ! What do you have in the queue ? Can you see the mail going out in /var/log/maillog ? When running sendmail with '-bt -d', what does '/mx freeb1.bt-sys.bt.co.uk' says ? What does '/parse graeme.brown@bt-sys.bt.co.uk' says ? What's inside your .mc file ? Do you see anything on the other machine's logs ? -- Ollivier ROBERT -=- FreeBSD: The Power to Serve! -=- roberto@keltia.freenix.fr FreeBSD keltia.freenix.fr 3.0-CURRENT #64: Fri Sep 11 23:22:44 CEST 1998 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-net" in the body of the message
