I am frequently encountering crashes on my 4.7 workstation. The common
denominator seems to be when I am transferring/copying large size of files
over to the network ( at one time I was "scp"ing a mysql 4.0 binary i.e. >
6MB file, over to a host in my network). There dont seem to be any
difference wether the operations are done via ssh/scp/smb, which suggests to
me that the problem may not be on an application level.

Has anyone encountered the same? I have 5 production machines which I want
to upgrade to 4.7, but this problem/unknown is holding me back.

Following is the log from /var/log/messages :
