Hubbard <jkh@FreeBSD.ORG>. What is FreeBSD-stable? FreeBSD-stable is our development branch for a more low-key and conservative set of changes intended for our next mainstream release. Changes of an experimental or untested nature do not go into this branch (see FreeBSD-current). Who needs FreeBSD-stable? If you are a commercial user or someone who puts maximum stability of their FreeBSD system before all other concerns, you should consider tracking stable. This is especially true if you have installed the most recent release (3.2-RELEASE at the time of this writing) since (emphasis mine) **** the stable branch is effectively a bug-fix stream relative to the previous release. ***** TfH nunnari wrote: > > I must correct my previous posting. > What I'd like to know is the difference between > 3.1-STABLE, 3.1-RELEASE and FreeBSD-stable. > > Sorry for the waste of bandwith. > -- > Roberto Nunnari -software engineer- > mailto:roberto.nunnari@agie.ch > AGIE - http://www.agie.com > Via dei pioppi 16 tel: +41-91-8069138 > 6616 Losone """ > Switzerland (o o) > =======================oOO==(_)==OOo======================== > MY OPNIONS ARE NOT NECESSARELY THOSE OF MY EMPLOYER > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org > with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message --------------259ACC977FBCB1103101E687 Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name="thierry.herbelot.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: Card for Thierry Herbelot Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="thierry.herbelot.vcf" begin:vcard n:Herbelot;Thierry tel;work:(+33) 1 46 52 47 23 x-mozilla-html:FALSE url:http://perso.cybercable.fr/herbelot org:CIT Nanterre adr:;;;;;; version:2.1 email;internet:thierry.herbelot@alcatel.fr x-mozilla-cpt:;-22032 fn:Thierry Herbelot end:vcard --------------259ACC977FBCB1103101E687-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
