Thanks, Doug,

that's a good point. I ran up and down the scale of jks and connectors
including building the connectors with ant etc etc and tomcats
from 3.3 to 5 together with apache from 1.3.27 to 2.0.48 an various
combinations and I don't know where my head stands at the moment.

Maybe I should turn back to apache13 with tomcat 5.0.something now and
try it again.
