Not all of CTAN ... perhaps some packages. Let people add
packages to ports as they see fit. After all, there are many
Perl packages/modules available as ports that are also part
of CPAN. Why discriminate the TeX ones?

I agree with a separate category for TeX/LaTeX and friends.
