Sorry for the delay in following-up, but I still wanted to let you
all know how it turned out.  We did have ASUS motherboards, and 
after Ken pointed out the dependency, we went to the website.  The
spec's said that they could take up to 100 chips on the SIMMs.  We
ordered one set of 64M SIMMs with 24 chips/SIMM and another set
with 8 chips/SIMM.

The 24 chip SIMMs were just plain ugly, looking like two 32M SIMMs
on top of each other.  We tried them since the 4x24 = 96 was under
the 100 chip limit, but found our machine rebooting every hour and
a half, presumably coinciding with more SIMM memory being used.
We replaced them with the 8 chip SIMMs, and haven't had a problem
since.
