Doesn't seem very ambiguous to many of us :-)

Also, tcp_wrappers functionality is built into inetd these days; have a
look at /etc/hosts.allow

Be sure of how sendmail is configured and if you still have lingering
doubts why not just portscan it using one of many available tools?
