I have a Supported 3com card in my PC, and I don't think I'd have had any 
trouble installing FreeBSD via the docs, if the docs corresponded to the 
interface, on the interface you are only able to configure PPP over Com1, 
slip over Com1, or PLIP over LPTwatever :)  If I've missed something in the 
equation please tell me when you write back, I want to know what to choose 
for the ethernet NFS installation.
