Now that you know what it is, you should probably read the man page
more carefully.  Basically, ssh-agent's output is supposed to be
evaluated by your shell.  Information about its existance is conveyed
to ssh(1) and ssh-add(1) via environment variables.

The short fix is to do: eval `ssh-agent`.  The longer way is to read
the man page.
