I know of nothing so integrated as powerpoint, but I have been able
to match much of its results by centering my prep work in xfig and
using xli for slide-show presentation of the results and a
graphical browser (I write html) to provide flexible presentation
paths.

Key support tools for me are ghostview, TeX, groff, netpbm, psutils,
xdvi, xpaint, ImageMagick (sic), and mpeg_play. You may also find
the shareware xv useful. These are all available via the packages
and ports sections of FreeBSD. The results can be quite
satisfactorily professional.
