I personally don't know anyone still using gnomemc. We've had nautilus in the GNOME 1.4 desktop for sometime, and today I heard GNOME 1.4 is being deep-sixed (i.e. no GNOME 1.4.1 as promised). Unless any GNOME users object, I'd say can the port. However, you might want to send a mini-HEADS UP on ports@ first.
