Not something that I've tested.  I've just looked, and it
doesn't appear to be one of the top-level configurable options
on the freetype2 port, either.

I'm running ghostscript8 now, instead of ghostscript-gpl, and
everything seems to be fine, so I won't be able to test this
theory.
