No error message recorded (/var/log/messages or anywhere). I fixed the problem by playing around with the ethernet cable (and ethernet port on the switch - we use cheap netgear 8 port switch). Somehow after changing the ethernet cable + changing the port on the switch, it works without any problem. You might want to try to use another ethernet cable. I have no idea why/how, but it does work on me.
