If you are acting as their client, doesn't the PPP address negotiation (by
setting the remote end to 0.0.0.0) and subsequent interface manipulation do
the job ?

If you ARE the service provider, I haven't found a method of dynamic
reassignment for FreeBSD (yet) .. suggestions anyone ?
