Hi Darryl, hi Warner, ... hi there,

I grabbed a few pieces of further information.

It's attached to this message.

It didn't look like as there were any additional messages.
The rc.pccard redirects all output (stdout and stderr) to
/var/log/pccard.debug. This file stays empty.

This message should have 3 attachements.
1. 'theDmesg' - the verbose boot messages

2. 'theMessages' - the syslog messages generated by pccardd.
I killed the pccardd and restarted it with the -d Flag.
Doing an'ifconfig' results in the mentioned error messages.

3. 'pccard.dumpcis' - the output of an 'pccardc dumpcis' with
    the lucent card inserted.

I'd appreciate all help I could get and would gladfully help
out with an ssh-account (for really interested folks) on the vaio.

TIA,
    Andreas
