--bp/iNruPH9dso1Pn Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Hi Darryl, hi Warner, ... hi there, I grabbed a few pieces of further information. On Sat, Sep 23, 2000 at 07:43:38PM -0700, Darryl Okahata wrote: > Andreas Braukmann <braukmann@tse-online.de> wrote: > > > The pccardd recognizes the wavelan card and binds it (as expected) > > to the the wi driver. > [ ... ] > > Bringing up the interface with ifconfig results in > > "wi0: tx buffer allocation failed" messages. > > If you're seeing this, the driver initialization is failing. > It probably won't help, but you could post a verbose dmesg, It's attached to this message. > as well as the bootup console messages (many of which are NOT > placed into dmesg or /var/log/messages). It didn't look like as there were any additional messages. The rc.pccard redirects all output (stdout and stderr) to /var/log/pccard.debug. This file stays empty. This message should have 3 attachements. 1. 'theDmesg' - the verbose boot messages 2. 'theMessages' - the syslog messages generated by pccardd. I killed the pccardd and restarted it with the -d Flag. Doing an'ifconfig' results in the mentioned error messages. 3. 'pccard.dumpcis' - the output of an 'pccardc dumpcis' with the lucent card inserted. I'd appreciate all help I could get and would gladfully help out with an ssh-account (for really interested folks) on the vaio.
