I have a need to create a memory filesystem
on a system that boots from a CD. That means
that besides a floppy, I have no writable media,
and therefore, no swap.

I have looked into V9FS, and MFS, but the source
for V9FS is lkm based, and will not load
on stable (at least not for me in the little time
I spent on it.. yes I loaded the lkm module first),
and MFS seems to require a writable block device.

Am I missing something obvious? Any ideas?

Thanks

Chad
