I'm using FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT, which comes with /usr/bin/unzip. So I added to /etc/make.conf a line containing
UNZIP_CMD=/usr/bin/unzip
All ports that have zip distfiles have bee working so far but jasper fails because after extraction the configure script does not have execution permission.
>How-To-Repeat:
On FreeBSD 9, Remove the unzip package, if installed, and add to /etc/make.conf a line containing
UNZIP_CMD=/usr/bin/unzip
then run
cd /usr/ports/graphics/jasper
make
The build will fail because the configure script is not executable.

Apply the patch contained in the attachment.
