Well, I'd say 1.4 gig per architecture where full disc1 with packages
are available.  Less per architecture that doesn't have a full disc1
ISO with packages :

[ftp-master] /pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386> du -csh 5.1-BETA/ ISO-IMAGES/5.1-BETA/
200M	5.1-BETA/
1.2G	ISO-IMAGES/5.1-BETA/
1.4G	total
