Hi ! We are running FreeBSD 3.2 and are using nis for authentcation. But I can't login as nis-user, only local user are allowed to login. The same is for login with ssh. nis is enabled and I can get the passwd file with ypcat, so nis seems to work. I haven't changed /etc/login.access, /etc/login.conf and /etc/pam.conf. In /etc/auth.conf I have uncommented the line auth_default = des but that seems to be the standard. The man page for auth.conf are *very* short. ;) /usr/lib/libcrypt[.a|.so|.so.2|_p.a] point to /usr/lib/libdescrypt[.a|.so|.so.2|_p.a]. I tried to get some information from syslogd, but even if I log everything, there is no information why the login is denied. Anyone who can give me a hint? cu andy To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
