No problem - he was just joking, and my reply was supposed to note that :-)

Didn't even know there was a list specific to multimedia - I just 
subscribe to -current and -smp (the box in question runs both). 
Supposedly there is a patch out there (discussed recently in -current) 
that fixes this problem but I have no pointers to it yet.
